Please reach out to your CSM to confirm once you have completed the required attestation. If you have not completed and confirmed completion of all required attestations by May 11, you will be unable to run Medicare checks.

Novitas

Use these steps to attest that Nirvana is authorized to run Medicare eligibility checks (270/271) on your behalf through Novitas.

Novitas supports two jurisdictions:

  • **JH (**AR, CO, LA, MS, NM, OK, TX)
  • **JL (**DC, DE, MD, NJ, PA)

You will complete attestation in the jurisdiction that matches your Medicare enrollment.

Step 1: Open the Novitas HETS Enrollment Tool

Go to the Novitas HETS EDI Enrollment Tool for your jurisdiction:

Step 2: Accept the Rules of Behavior

  1. Read the HETS Rules of Behavior.
  2. Check the box acknowledging the rules.
  3. Click Continue.

Step 3: Enter the Trading Partner Unique ID

  1. In the Unique ID (UID) field, enter the Trading Partner Unique ID 274B
  2. Click Validate.

Step 4: Enter Provider Information

  1. Enter your Group NPI.
  2. Enter your PTAN.
  3. Select the appropriate Contractor ID from the dropdown.
  4. Click Validate.

If your NPI/PTAN is not enrolled for EDI, Novitas will prompt you to complete EDI enrollment first.

Step 5: Answer Offshore Organization Question

For the provider listed:

  • Answer the question regarding use of offshore organizations.

Step 6: Set Effective and Termination Dates

  1. Enter the Effective Date (today or a future date).
  2. Leave the Termination Date blank.
    • If there is no end date, select No Termination Date.

Do not select Delete Existing Relationship unless you are intentionally removing authorization.

Step 7: Enter Contact Information

  1. Enter the authorized or delegated official’s Email Address.
  2. Enter an Alternate Email Address (optional).
  3. Click Save.

Step 8: Review and Submit

  1. Review the attestation details.
  2. If everything is correct, click Submit.
  3. Click Submit again to confirm.

You will see a submission status screen once the attestation is successful.

Important Notes

  • Attestation is required per NPI and jurisdiction (JH or JL).
  • If you are enrolled under both jurisdictions, you must complete this process for each one.

Summary

  1. Open the Novitas HETS Enrollment Tool (JH or JL)
  2. Enter and validate Stedi’s Unique ID
  3. Validate your NPI and PTAN
  4. Set dates and submit the attestation

This completes your CMS eligibility attestation with Novitas.
